If you're not sure the best Halloween costume to rock at this year's costume party, it's true that power comes in numbers! People appreciate a good group Halloween costume, and even more importantly, the group effort makes for the best memories. We rounded up the best group Halloween costume ideas, whether you're just teaming up with a couple of friends or you want to get a huge group to all go in.

We can all agree that the point of a group costume is to make sure everyone has a ton of fun. What better way to do that than to go the funny route? Bring your favorite cartoon characters to life and you’ll all be laughing for years to come, remembering the time that the Looney Tunes took the right turn at Albuquerque! If that’s too “on the nose” for you, find out how many clowns can actually fit into your car and give everyone a laugh. (Of course, if you noticed the clown nose joke there, you’re already a natural for a pun-themed group costume. Now that’ll put the play in “play on words!”) Funny group costumes are perfect for adults and kids...and kids dressing up as adults or adults going back to their baby years.

One of our favorite teams of all time came from the All-American Girl's Professional Baseball League. A League of Their Own has us singing along every time. That's why we're sure that you'll love to squad up in group costumes based on the movie. We have costumes for Rockford and Racine, so you can go up to the pitcher's mound as Kit, stop anything from getting by you as Dottie, or even enjoy some time at the game as Madonna!

Wonderland has all tykes enchanted. Of course, as adults some of those moments with the Caterpillar seem a little bit different. As curious as little Alice may have been as a kid, wandering Wonderland as an adult is even more fun! Pal around with the Queen of Hearts and show the Mad Hatter a few tricks they've never seen. Jump through the looking glass with a Wonderland group costume for adults! (Just imagine how curious Cheshire will be when left off the leash!)

Halloween's breakout album Tricks, Treats and Other Tales From The Crypt was recorded in 2002 with what has come to be known as the Halloween 4.0 lineup. The 4th iteration of the band featured founding vocalist Brian Thomas, Axe Slayer Donny Allen, Jason "JDawg" Rossvanes on drums, Tommy Vendetta Guitar and John "Sixpac" Guarascio on Bass. The lineup was actually not originally intended to be Halloween, but unbelievable fan support for Halloween almost forced their hand. The band worked tirelessly to record a mix of classic Halloween "hits" and a handful of new/unrecorded tracks. The band played several shows stateside before being signed to headline the Keep It True Festival in Germany. It was during this era that the band finally made a run for Europe. The band had amassed a large cult following in Europe, but never had a lineup or management to get the ball rolling. The great success and European media blitz that followed the release of Trick, Treats, and Other Tales From The Crypt is what propelled Halloween into the spotlight it still enjoys today. Though short lived, "Halloween 4.0" is undoubtedly the incarnation that got Halloween out of Detroit. Following the departure of several members the band recorded a live demo in Detroit in February 2004 titled Not Dead... In The Murder City.

If you and your group are fans of all things winter, dress up as snowflakes. This idea is especially useful when your crew is exceptionally large, since everyone doesn't need to necessarily match. Each person needs an all-white outfit and an adorable snowflake accessory, like a headband. Alternatively, you can wear a jeweled tiara or hair clips. There's a lot of room for personalization here, so don't be afraid to get creative!

The wearing of costumes is an important part of holidays developed from religious festivals such as Mardi Gras (in the lead up to Easter), and Halloween (related to All Hallow's Eve). Mardi Gras costumes usually take the form of jesters and other fantasy characters; Halloween costumes traditionally take the form of supernatural creatures such as ghosts, vampires, pop-culture icons and angels. In modern times. Christmas costumes typically portray characters such as Santa Claus (developed from Saint Nicholas). In Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States the American version of a Santa suit and beard is popular; in the Netherlands, the costume of Zwarte Piet is customary. Easter costumes are associated with the Easter Bunny or other animal costumes.
In true millennial fashion, you and your squad can dress up as social butterflies. First, you'll need pairs of butterfly wings in a rainbow of colors. If you're crafty, you can easily make a pair of antennae with a headband and two pipe cleaners. Next, print out the logos of your favorite social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Pin or tape it to your clothing and you're good to go. (But not before you post it on the 'gram, of course.)

If there is one thing that we can never let go of, it's our love for the Frozen family. Busting ghosts is not an easy process. It involves a lot of people, some serious science, and careful planning. That last one is huge. (They need to know who to call, right?!) The Hundred Acre Wood is a great place to relax and hang with your friends. Don't think that storybook characters have to be stuck between the pages, though. When you and your friends wear a group costume featuring Pooh Bear and his friends, the whole story is bound to be sweet as honey. (And for once, you can be even more bouncy than your kiddo thanks to Tigger!)

What should I be for Halloween 2018

The practice may have originated in a Celtic festival, held on 31 October–1 November, to mark the beginning of winter. It was called Samhain in Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man, and Calan Gaeaf in Wales, Cornwall and Brittany. The festival is believed to have pre-Christian roots. After the Christianization of Ireland in the 5th century, some of these customs may have been retained in the Christian observance of All Hallows' Eve in that region—which continued to be called Samhain/Calan Gaeaf—blending the traditions of their ancestors with Christian ones.[2][3] It was seen as a liminal time, when the spirits or fairies (the Aos Sí), and the souls of the dead, could more easily come into our world.[4] It was believed that the Aos Sí needed to be propitiated to ensure that the people and their livestock survived the winter.
I think it's about 50/50 in participation here in Central Texas, but if you look at the Halloween store, they have more adult-sized costumes and themes than they do for small kids. My husband has only been in the states here (from England) for 4 years and he finds it fascinating as well. He has a Guy Fawkes costume he wears each year and told us the story and we "celebrate" Nov 5th with fireworks and sometimes a small fire where we have been known to burn a scarecrow. :)

^ Cleene, Marcel. Compendium of Symbolic and Ritual Plants in Europe. Man & Culture, 2002. p.108. Quote: "Soul cakes were small cakes baked as food for the deceased or offered for the salvation of their souls. They were therefore offered at funerals and feasts of the dead, laid on graves, or given to the poor as representatives of the dead. The baking of these soul cakes is a universal practice".
