Parades and processions provide opportunities for people to dress up in historical or imaginative costumes. For example, in 1879 the artist Hans Makart designed costumes and scenery to celebrate the wedding anniversary of the Austro-Hungarian Emperor and Empress and led the people of Vienna in a costume parade that became a regular event until the mid-twentieth century. Uncle Sam costumes are worn on Independence Day in the United States. The Lion Dance, which is part of Chinese New Year celebrations, is performed in costume. Some costumes, such as the ones used in the Dragon Dance, need teams of people to create the required effect.

A costume technician is a term used for a person that constructs and/or alters the costumes. The costume technician is responsible for taking the two dimensional sketch and translating it to create a garment that resembles the designer's rendering. On the other hand the postmodern phenomenon of "antifashion" is also to be found in some Halloween costumes. Black and orange are a 'must' with many costumes. Halloween - like the medieval danse macabre - is closely connected with superstitions and it might be a way of dealing with death in a playful way.

The Hundred Acre Wood is a great place to relax and hang with your friends. Don't think that storybook characters have to be stuck between the pages, though. When you and your friends wear a group costume featuring Pooh Bear and his friends, the whole story is bound to be sweet as honey. (And for once, you can be even more bouncy than your kiddo thanks to Tigger!)
Whats the best costume website
I think it's about 50/50 in participation here in Central Texas, but if you look at the Halloween store, they have more adult-sized costumes and themes than they do for small kids. My husband has only been in the states here (from England) for 4 years and he finds it fascinating as well. He has a Guy Fawkes costume he wears each year and told us the story and we "celebrate" Nov 5th with fireworks and sometimes a small fire where we have been known to burn a scarecrow. :)
How big is the group that will be participating? Does the size lend itself to specific themes? For instance, having a group of 5 allows you to choose a theme that uses a poker hand such as dressing up as a Royal Flush with each participant coming as a different playing card within the hand (Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten). A group of three might choose Three Blind Mice or the Three Musketeers.
Do you want to be really famous? How about a group of TV stars? Pretty flashy, right? But you want to be comfy and a little cuddly, too? Well, it looks like Good Luck Bear is betting on you! The Care Bears are here to bring everything that you're looking for. With dozens of characters to choose from, your group will be prepared whether in sunshine or storms, from bright day to bedtime! You can even bring the Care Bear Cousins along for the adventure with these options.
Why do we wear costumes on Halloween
Is it time for a gals' night out? Well, tell the boys to go tidy up the kitchen because you've got places to be! If there is one way to make sure that the whole town recognizes that it's a Girl's Night, it's by dressing up in a look that sets the stage. We're not saying you all must match...but wouldn't it be fun?! There are a ton of great stories out there that only involve the ladies. (And several of the other ones would have been better that way, too.) From Mean Girls and Clueless to taking over Pawnee, Indiana with Parks and Recreation, we're happy to offer inspiration from some of our favorite themes of all-women group costumes to start the night out right. You can also put a feminine twist on other iconic characters when Ms. Captain America meets up with Superwoman and the newest Power Rangers!

In true millennial fashion, you and your squad can dress up as social butterflies. First, you'll need pairs of butterfly wings in a rainbow of colors. If you're crafty, you can easily make a pair of antennae with a headband and two pipe cleaners. Next, print out the logos of your favorite social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Pin or tape it to your clothing and you're good to go. (But not before you post it on the 'gram, of course.)
